Yesterday I once again attended a Tripoli Southern Minnesota rocket launch. This time I dragged my dad and brother along for the fun. The wind was fairly strong but they launched anyways. We took a number of photos. If you click on the thumbnails you will get a bigger image and if you click on the bigger image you will get the full resolution image.
This launch had an engine cluster rocket, two actually. A fun little trick I have never seen. An engine run on a cluster has multiple engines that are light at once. The first had five I284 engines putting it at comparable power to a single L1420. The rocket took off from the pad with the typical roar, but it also had a higher pitched scream to it too. The other cluster rocket had two much smaller engines. There was also a Crayola crayon rocket that was launched. It ended up taking a hard landing, but being sturdy came out alright.
It was fun to once again see some high-powered rockets fly. If I end up working in the area I might do it more often.

Woot, Rockets! Two days ago I went to the disco! We met some foreigners and it was great. Anyways, I am glad you enjoyed it, you should email me about how your interview went.
