Since I can't seem to fall asleep at the moment, I thought I would share a few choice exchanges that have occoured recently around here.
After going out for some Chinese to celebrate the news mentioned in the previous post, I thanked my parents for dinner. My dad lost no time and said, in an "about time" sort of voice, "Thanks for getting a job."
While bringing my sister home from her flight my mom suggested that I take over my life insurance now that I have a job lined up. Out of some morbid curiosity I asked my mom how much I am worth dead. She shared the amount to which I said with a smile, "Well, I guess I might as well keep living."
My brother recently got back from a honor band tour in Europe. He had purchesed Swiss Army Knives in Switzerland for family members. On the buss he looked at one of the girls who was on the tour and said, "I've got a knife with your name engraved on it." Nevously, she acknowleged the comment. My brother continued, "But it's for my sister."
I know that there was another exchange I had in my head yesterday for this post. But I can't seem to think of it. Oh well, such is life and life is such.

....for lack of a better word.
I'm not going to go into details at the moment, but I just was notified that tomorrow an offer letter will be sent in the mail. Now this seems like a good thing. Until, that is, I realize that this means instead of a tired, grouchy sister returning I will have an excited, hyper sister returning. Gee, lucky me......
More news to come as things progress.

Yeah, that's about how it is...
Two months out from graduation and still trying to find a job. On the other hand, I know of two other people in my field who's job searches lasted for over a year. One of them searched for over a year and a half, gave up, and joined the Peace Corps. Still, even after putting that into perspective, one can't help feeling like this, which really is the whole reason for writing this post anyway.
I am waiting to hear from one place today. I've got a few other places I can start cooking if this place doesn't work out.
